Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3 1962 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou, who was a contestant in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). Athena is his older sister, and also a drummer. Lee was just two years old when his dad moved his family to California. He also received his first drumsticks around the age of four and his first real drum set when he turned sixteen. Lee resigned from high school in order to pursue music as a career which began with Suite 19, a L.A.-based club band. (#5) He was a young man who listened to Van Halen as well as Led Zeppelin as well as Kiss, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss and Led Zeppelin. The main influences on his drumming are John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen and Terry Bozzio
