Taylor Russell McKenzie was conceived in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 18th on the 18th of July 1994. She also grew up in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. [1][2(two) Russell, who was born to the black father and white mother, is biracial, and grew up primarily with her mother's side of the family. Russell said that her skin color was a reason she felt disregarded by her peers as when she was a young child. Her parents were struggling financially and had to relocate 16 times to work for her father. Despite this adversity, Russell mentioned how in her early days "there always was a chance for re-invention, to make something new."As growing up, Russell was already artistically inclined. At first, she desired to pursue a profession in ballet and later to be an artist. When she was 18, she attended her first acting class and eventually, she found her spot. She saved her money from work to purchase an automobile and drove to Los Angeles to audition. When her money ran out her home was returned to work until she made enough money to be able to audition again. This went on for four years until she finally secured her first major television role.
